I'm not jealous because I've got Music To Watch Girls By. Less claaassy (as one I used to know would have pronounced it, bit like how Mencken said Bozaarts about those) but most enticing. Big band orchestra, the whole bit.
Purely instrumental. I can't for my liff recall the name of the big band orchestra playing up albeit incredibly popular at its time. You can't buy more kitsch for money!
Crewe first heard the song performed in a "jingle demo" for a Diet Pepsi commercial. Music was composed by Sidney "Sid" Ramin. The "big-band, horn driven"[3] recording went to #15 on the pop chart and #2 on the Easy Listening chart.[4]
I've always loved that kind of soundtrack thingy and am now old enough to admit so freely without blushing. Bet it got trendy too in the meantime which is probably the fault of people like Eno with his elevators and airports; all just because he was once in love with a girl who had musical tattooes on her back and played him baroque and Bach tunes in hopsital to change his mind. My parents used to own dance orchestra music from the enemy across the border, I loved that too and the record sleeves decorated with elegant couples; the men in tuxedoes and women in pink tutus and high-heeled pumps from an age, when people knew how to dance.
