I enjoy this movie very much; especially how you see the contrast of the young boys and their idea of the glory of war in the beginning to when they realize what war actually is.

The novel, the move's based on, is very good as well. Actually, the most of the books written by Remarque are excellent, just saying..

My daughter read the book several years ago. I read portions of it and I liked the parts I read. Sometime I'd like to take time and read the whole book.
