Embedding Youtube LJ Quirk

It's been discovered that if you've embedded an youtube video in your post and then go to edit the post (after originally posting it) that LJ might 'eat' the youtube embed code and you'll no longer have a video in your post....so PLEASE if you post something from youtube and then go and edit your post, please double check to make sure after your edit that LJ hasn't eaten the embed code!!

Very strange quirk, but LJ seems to have issues with youtube, such as we can't embed videos in the comments, only link them....but that's a whole other issue! :)

i do too.....but the eating of embed code when someone edits---the OP added a tag---is a new quirk and that's really irksome!!

Also if you post TWO videos be careful because editing can cause one to be "swallowed" or erased - along with surrounding text.

I swear I used to be able to post videos in comments. But maybe that was because those were in journals, and not communities.

I'm INCREDIBLY confused now, because I embedded a video in a comment on a community just last week...

yeah, we USE to be able to post embedded comments in vintage ads---but sometime, even before our fancy new layout----something happened and it doesn't work any more.....

I'm wondering if it's layout-specific, or having to do with opting into the Speshul Russian LJ or whatever. Because I can embed videos in comments elsewhere (as I linked to in another reply), but not here.

other members have said they've had problems with embedding in comments in other communities and this was an issue before we got our special layout.....it seems to be SOME communities....it's annoying and frustrating!!!
