Whoa, that is one seriously fucked up ad! Probably a lost movie, but if not I'd love to see it sometime. The movie is probably nowhere near as "white slavery" as the lurid poster.

It's probably a rom-com about a man juggling multiple relationships and one of them turns out to be 'Da One!'

I'm confused. The poster says 'HE couldn't say no, so he bought rings by the carload', which, logically, should mean that HE is trapped in multiple marriages. But the images that the women are trapped (literally).

No, I think the producers are confused.

Weirdsville! Here is a more normal poster -https://www.pinterest.com/pin/236439049163809844/ (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/236439049163809844/)

Apparently it's based on a book? Hmmm!

Margaret Livingston shines in the classic silent 'Sunrise', so I'd be interested in seeing this. For the movie poster, well... it seems one of those things that just aren't funny anymore, like male leads spanking female leads for mildly bad behavior *except for the fetish market nowadays, and then too, I guess* or really outrageous racist stereotypes.

Found a little more info here: https://books.google.se/books?id=rlLbRAPOgP0C&pg=PA495&lpg=PA495&dq=married+alive+william+fox&source=bl&ots=DLT6DrDRhw&sig=cc1rH6zfl1knWBcosxIrq32Io6o&hl=en&sa=X&ei=IDxzVeHqJIj6ywOx6YGwDQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=married%20alive%20william%20fox&f=false

It's apparently from 17 July 1927. It's called a 'domestic comedy-drama'.

"A college professor who approves of polygamy among the lover forms of animal life goes to the seashore for rest, meets a man (Duxbury) who reveals himself to be married to four women. The professor proceeds to inform the wives of this infamy; one, and actress, doesn't care; the preacher's daughter is duly heartbroken. An old battle-ax proves to be actually married to the scoundrel, thus enabling the professor to marry the fourth, a lady of royalty."

Oh, and I just realized the title is probably a pun on "Buried Alive"---apparently he's buried in wives!
