I like this ad. It's bright and peppy and makes me think of spring, which is what they were going for, but even the light bulbs raining down amuses me. :)
So the context is that you use brighter lights in the spring? Can't easily find any of these any more here. Never thought I'd see the day we did away with incandescent bulbs.
there are still some available here, but not many.
we're slowly replacing EVERY bulb in our house with LED bulbs...they're expensive, but they're cheap as shit to run, AND they last a long-ass time. i'm 51 and really do not need to be hauling out the 12 foot ladder to change light bulbs, really! (the highest ceiling in my house is 15 feet. and TheEngineer does not need to be trying to go up a ladder at his advanced...um, yeah. he's my walrus. *G*)
We are doing the same here. We have a 22 foot high ceiling and there's a light fixture up there. I advocated getting a LED bulb in that sucker faster than fast.
when i told the handyman i had changed most of the bulbs (he got the one over the sink, which was too hard for me to get at), he told me "Miss Cat, you do not need to be climbing the ladders!" (he's hispanic, with a lovely accent)
my son was still here when i replaced the highest one...i handed down the burned out bulb, and when he started looking around for the new one he couldn't find it. he said "mama, where's the new bulb?"
sports bra pocket. *G* of course, we replaced ALL the bulbs in the bathrooms a few weekends back, and here i am up on a chair to reach and STILL stretched up on my tiptoes...and TheEngineer can reach the damn things without STRETCHING hard. damned 6'4" man... ;) (i'm 5'1".)
but i tell you, having an led bulb in the lamp right over my shoulder is nice because it does not get hot at all.
If it's any consolation, I'm 5'2 and my hubby is 6'5". The Boy comes in at 6' but he's no longer around the house to help out. Sigh, so I know exactly what you mean. ;)
heh. my son is from a prior marriage and registers in at 5'9", which is still taller than his dad, who is 5'5". (steriods for asthma stunted his growth)
and my grandbebe is not yet 3 and is already just shy of 3 foot tall!! i told my 5'6" daughter to put a brick on her head. *G* (bio-dad is over 6 foot, i hear. he isn't around much. but papaw lives with them, so he's doing the day-to-day dad stuff, just like he did for my daughter when we got married. *her* dad hasn't seen her since she was 15. she's 32.)
gods bless all parents, no matter how they got their kids. :)
our nephew is adopted also, and we think he's nearly his hit full height at almost 17...he's maybe 5'6". amerindian and vietnamese, neither family wanted him. my SIL was thrilled to get him and mostly he's a good kid. (snarly and mean sometimes, which is Male Teen at this age LOL)
plus, the ex and i have nearly a dozen other kids who have called us mom2 and dad over the years, due to friends and former partners. one woman's kids still are in contact with the ex and still call him dad. and that makes me happy. :)
I just have the one and many students. I am considered Mum at the theatre to many of our actors, volunteers, and staff, so I guess they sort of count. Just as long as I don't have to start giving them allowances.
That is very cool that you have made a difference in so many lives. All I have now are cats, but that's okay, too.
mum of the theatre DEFINITELY counts. :) you've made a difference in those lives, too.
all i have going on at home now is one small service dog, but she thinks the sun rises and sets on her mama, so i know what you mean about your kitties. (that's us in the icon photo, although she's a bit greyer about the muzzle and my hair is about 6 inches longer lol)
Aw, how cute! My guys are my kids now, three inside and eight outside. It's funny because the minute they hear me coming they race out to see me. Pets have a way of making you feel so loved and needed (unlike actors, unless they are hungry or need to run lines!
