We always called orange soda, orange tonic. Anyone else?

That's a new one - I guess it's regional? Our friends called most any soda 'coke' and we called it 'pop.' Texas v. Nebraska, haha.

To enjoy while reading a book of Nesbit's, perhaps? I liked The Enchanted Castle.

Referring to a carbonated beverage as "tonic" is typical of New Englanders. I've never heard it outside of New England.

Me, me! When I was a kid we often referred to soda as tonic. Now it's not used as much but occasionally you might hear it. It's like luncheonettes were often called spas but had nothing to do with massages or face peels! ;)

My grandmother loved orange 'tonic'. She always had at least one bottle among many other sodas of that one at family gatherings.

A pity I don't have the equipment to post scans. Polar Sodas would be cute with the polar bear logo! :)
