another lovely ad!! i've never written with a quill pen but i've always loved the idea of trying it! there's something almost romantic about dipping a pen into an ink well and then writing on thick paper! of course you'd have to use a wax seal on the envelope too! :)
I adore fountain pens and "dip" pens (what this would be called in English). This one looks like it would produce a very fine line and be really nice to write with!
I would reserve the word "quill" to mean a pen made from a feather. I would call this object a "nib". You can buy a holder and attach many different nibs to it, depending on the result you want, or to replace a nib that has broken or worn out.
