Reading that dialogue, it almost seems as if Elsie and Elmer are into a bit of a bondage.

I agree, plus they're both naked throughout the ad--in other ads Elmer is in overalls and Elsie is in an apron.

My grandfather worked for Borden's for many years. I had Elsie merchandise all over my bedroom -- plush dolls, sippy cups, night-lights... Elsie got rather creepy, in my eyes.
