I used to eat at Whataburger all the time when I lived in Texas.

Since this is a contest entry, I am just submitting the first ad. (If that's not okay, I will pull this as an entry.) In the second ad, they finish his sentences, which is not cool.

Mel Tillis is a country singer and has been in some movies.

Yes!

I loved Whataburger burgers when I lived in Austin in the 80s. There was one not too far from where I lived. I only ate out once a month and the place I'd usually go was Whataburger.

I remember when they added a drive-through to the restaurant. To me it seemed like one of the dumbest things ever. They didn't cook the burgers til you ordered them, so why not go inside and wait instead of sitting with the engine idling forever.

Somewhere, I still have a really awful looking plastic coffee mug from Whataburger. With it you got 5 cent coffee refills for life.

fun thing about mel tillis is that he does not stutter when he sings. :) that's a normal fact in most people with stammers! (it's also how i got trained out of it...)

i got to eat at the ORIGINAL whataburger once. that was a cool factoid of my life. *G*

right before i left florida, they opened up 3 whataburgers in jacksonville. i was GLAD to get a chocolate malt done RIGHT again!

my daughter, granddaughter, and my ex husband are back in jacksonville now...and i miss them terribly. :/ they were in lousiana, about 7 hours from where i live in houston.

and i SO get you about 95 (lived in jax for 15 years...) and trust me, the traffic here in houston is JUST as bad. I-10, I-45, I-59, the 610 loop around houston, beltway 8 which is a toll road that makes a *larger* loop around houston, and several other toll roads and texas highways...all converging on houston.

what is COOL is knowing that most of the highways coming into houston? actually follow the train tracks that lead into the port of houston. that's really a neat thing to know. (plus going over to the port of galveston, and the train bridge is a drawbridge. that always fascinated me when i was a kid.)

I worked at a place in South Phoenix on the Salt River. There was a Whataburger a few blocks up. It was always open for a burger run at any time. That was a plus as I ran IT out of that place for a chain of of supermarkets with pharmacies etc. and would find myself at work there all hours of the day and night.
