Two living rooms.

Tell us which you prefer. What you would change. Lets hear it!

The second, even if it screams snooty old money. The first one is entirely too green, from the curtains to the carpet to the plant. Is that a fake plant?

Wait, what are they selling again?

Then they've successfully sold me some paint! I like that hue of blue.

For pure sunlight, outdoor access and gorgeous fireplace, I'd pick #1. The furniture can be tossed out.

Room 1: I'd lose the furniture, the curtains, and the carpet.

Room 2: Love the blue walls but the ghastly pictures and the surfeit of lamps would have to go.

So room 2 on balance - less to change! :-)

I like room #2; lovely colors and furniture.

I'd choose Room 2 as the lesser of two evils. Neither really does much for me, but the sofas in 2 at least look comfy. I'd sure lose the pictures on the walls and maybe move the sofas further from the fireplace.

Room 1 just seems odd to me. It's as if they couldn't decide where to put the furniture, so they just kind of stuck it wherever.

actually...i think number 1, but only if i could get rid of some of the green fixtures. i love that huge stone fireplace and the light from all those windows.

(this looks a lot like a house i grew up in, actually, before we moved to the suburbs; shag green carpeting, monstrous stone fireplace, gold flecked mirrors that made up entire walls.)

#1 because it has more space.

i love the book holding table in room one!! i also like the furniture in room one but i don't like that fireplace facade....if it was a more traditional fireplace with bookshelves on the side, then i'd say 'sold'!

First one, no contest, though the second one has some nice bits, I like that screen.

First One

First one is western wide open big window, not too concerned with fireplace heat. Though those tables seem ghastly.

Second looks more temperate, the fireplace is more important.

So the first one... also the couch in no.1 looks like it would be comfy for naps.

First one, hands down. I would incinerate the lamp (guh) and move the two heavy end-tables by the orange chairs around some. . . and maybe make the carpet into a large area rug over hardwood floors. But otherwise I love the big open window and the fireplace and the green couch.

The second one is too dark and un-cozy for me.

The first room, hands down - that fireplace! That full-wall window! I like the style of the furniture, but the tables should be darker/homier (maybe a Walnut stain), and there's entirely too many of them.

#1 - but minus that awful white furniture. There'd be more room and you could get tasteful things to match the couch and chair. The green doesn't bother me too much - there's enough cement and brick to counter it.

I like the first room. I'd lose a bit of the green and choose complementary colors instead, but I like the green/yellow/orange motif, adore the big sunny window, and covet that fireplace!

#1 for that indoor-outdoor feel. It looks more comfortable to me than the second room. I love all the spaces for dropping books/papers off to minimize clutter but still have books around. I'd probably change the rug to brown or one of the colours of the fireplace, and paint the tables a slightly darker colour. And I think I'd steal the globe bar from the second room.

#1 --- the brick wall and the gaps in the furniture: such horizontality. :)

I like the first fireplace. It reminds me of my granparents' house, though theirs wasn't exactly like that. Same general idea. Oh, and the cow print lamp! I want that!

The second room is a bit on the fussy side, but I kind of like it. I really like those gray sofas!

If I had to choose all or nothing, I would go with 2.

Blend the two? I like the furniture in the second one, and the colors and huge windows in the first. I love rooms that feel like they have a smooth transition to the outdoors. But the tables are ugly and the furniture looks uncomfortable. And add bookcases, lots of them.

I love number one. The combination of green and stone appeal to me.

I'd take the tables in #1 Right. Now. if they were a nice cherry mahogany color, I like the two-level and nooks. No more clutter of remotes and other stuff on living room tables (life is gadget hell with an involved home theater system). They arrangement of said tables and other furniture is too haphazard, but I love the stonework and open air feeling. Tone down the green a bit though.

#2 is a bit more intimate, but a bit too stuffy for me.

#1, but get rid of the green couch, tables & curtains.

@#2 is just too plain. The walls are too flat, not enough natural light, and fireplace with no mantle???? Who designs THAT?

So definitely #1
