I've heard of this one... I think I heard of it here on V-A! I was disappointed that it's not in production, I'd be interested in trying it.

I have always wanted to try this. My guess is any attempt today would never be as good.

Apparently there is no poultry of any kind in it. Found something about it here on wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearson%27s_Candy_Company#Discontinued_products
and here:
http://www.neatorama.com/2007/05/14/10-candy-bars-youll-never-eat/
There is even a recipe:
http://www.cooks.com/recipe/uf1855i1/chicken-dinner-bars-no-bake.html
It sounds kind of okay, for a candy bar.

Haven't we done this one?
Yeah, it's weird, but there's a
reason
(http://chickendinnercandybar.blogspot.com/2009/08/chicken-dinner-candybar-history.html) for everything: basically, they wanted to echo the feelgood "chicken in every pot" mentality that pervaded the 20s.

My dad used to like a candy called Chick-o-stix or something like that. Tasted like peanut butter.
