Everybody looks like they're ready to get up and leave. No one checks coats or hats. I know women used to keep hats on, but they do look ready for flight! :)
Cool hats, BTW. I do enjoy the late '20s/early '30s fashions.
"Strongly, carefully built to outlive your generation." No wonder they aren't in business any more. The poor fools didn't understand you can't make money without planned obsolescence. Why would a satisfied customer buy their product again if the first one they bought is still in the home and working fine?
Well I certainly wouldn't buy that refrigerator. There's now uncovered, whole, cooked turkey in it. A whole ham isn't enough of a selling point. It's got to hold a whole turkey if you're gonna get me to buy it.
That fridge must have seemed like a miracle after living with little iceboxes and having to shop every day because you couldn't keep much for a long time.
Bacteria-hindering, maybe, but I doubt it was "bacteria-destroying" unless there was a UV light in there or the liner was made of some really toxic chemicals, which, considering the time, maybe it was. I like the design, though. I wouldn't mind a fridge that looked like that.
