I was completely unaware of the sale of LJ from SUP to Rambler & Co.
Here's the LinkedIn blurb on the new owner:
ambler&Co is the third biggest Russian Internet company with combined audience of over 40 million internet users. Rambler&Co is best known for being LiveJournal’s parent company, also owning such websites as Gazeta.ru and Championat.com. The company also runs a number of online media outlets, including Afisha.ru, Lenta.ru and contextual advertising service Begun.
I knew LJ had a new President/CEO/whatever, but I didn't know SUP had sold it. Huzzah! They're even listening to people now, and - shockingly! - aren't going through with the +1 feature after getting feedback that people don't want it.
I think I can see a squadron of pigs outside my third-floor window.
