I remember this one! The origination point for the Auto Train is about 10 miles from where I grew up in Virginia. We lived within about a half a mile of that line, which used to be part of the Orange & Alexandria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_and_Alexandria_Railroad), which was very contested during the Civil War.
