Pen for men... Hmmm... I don't see this ad itself as being sexist. It was a different time -- most women in the workforce were not executives who would use a writing instrument such as this. And it's definitely made for bigger hands, it's heavier than most. Now, being petite (a nice way to say scrawny) myself, I don't like writing with big heavy pens, I purposefully buy ones that are smaller and lighter.

My guess is that this was being marketed as a gift idea for housewives to give their white-collar husbands, in which case the ad execs probably hit it right on the money.
