The original "don't get sand kicked in your face you scrawny little beanpole" ad.

And the original sea creatures you can grow at home ad. They are still using this artwork today.  The copy has evolved... somewhat.

I think this is one of my favorite parodies of the first one. :)

I love Sea-Monkeys! Although the first time I got them I was very disappointed they didn't grow into groovy little sea-hippies, heehee. :P

Hee, they upgraded the original sea-monkey ad with a picture of the real creatures and putting "eager to please" and "obey" in commas. Children must have had a fun time trying to train something that were basically pre-historic shrimp.

Did anyone else start singing `In just seven daaays, I can make you a ma-aaa-aaan!' as they read the first ad?

LOLOL And kind of appropriate, too!

I loved the Sea Monkey ads growing up. I always wondered how I could convince my mother that we needed more pets.

Sea Monkeys were the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!

Oh I think I've seen these in some of the vintage Archie comics I had.

I had sea monkeys in 2nd grade. Fun fact: putting them too close to a vent ends badly for them :(
