Couple of my favorite older films....
Dec. 27th, 2013 01:41 pmI couldn't find a decent movie trailer for this--only trailers for reissues that just played up the gags. This movie is sooooo much more than that. It touches upon machines taking over man's work but man can still do the work if he works as fast and efficiently as a machine--which is impossible. How there's no humanity in such business, just the cold stark machines and you're just a cog. Go along with everything or be a black sheep. It's truly a timeless storyline that is just as relevant today. Chaplin, in my opinion, is really not given credit for his genius in storytelling and acting.

Fritz Lang's Dr. Mabuse the Gambler from 1922. I rented this when I had netflix and it's almost 4 hours. They had 2 hours on each side of the DVD. I figured I'd watch one side one night and the other side the next night. I was so enthralled, I watched it ALL in one night! I also named a kitty MABUSE! I LOVE silent films!!!
