A Favorite Movie

This is a great movie! I also think it should be mandated viewing for people of any political affiliation because it touches upon media manipulation by political candidates, media manipulation of political candidates, and government cooperation. Also how people can get so swept up into a candidate they will believe anything they say, even when there is evidence to disprove that.

Agreed - a brilliant movie. I couldn't watch it for a few years, while the Shrub was in power.

And then, 2 years ago, Tim Robbins was playing with his band at a local venue, and he very sweetly signed my copy.

That is a good movie! Things certainly have not changed at all, sadly. If anything, they've gotten much worse over time. It would be interesting to see a remake of this in a world where social media, instead of giving people a forum to discuss their views and differences openly, honestly, and intelligently, has just caused people to flock to their own kind and dig in their heels even more on every damn issue. Where anyone who has a different perspective than you do has no sound basis for those beliefs, is obviously morally flawed, might be mentally ill, and is just a bad person in general. That's what I get from my Facebook feed, anyway. :P
