I still use the cookie recipes from my Mother's copies of the Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery. They have a great sugar cookie recipe.

I prefer my baked goods booze free, unless they're only called rum balls but don't have any actual rum in them. I've recently had some chocolate rum cake which I figure is about 35% cake and 60~% rum.

i can remember mama making some of these! i really liked the date pinwheels and i TOTALLY turned my brother away from eating ANY of them ever again by pointing out the resembelence between whole dates and cockroaches. *snickering* MORE FOR MEEEEEE!!
