Amour is the worst. I remember it having a tiny little "peak" window and the top rasher was always nice and meaty looking. But open the pack and it was just strips of fat with a dot of meat here and there. Awful. Having moved away from the US and now enjoying real bacon (back bacon with the loin part) it makes the US belly fat bacon seem dreadful.

I find that belly fat bacon is more useful when being rendered into a little bit of frying fat than as a food unto itself.

Well, but it IS belly bacon- Germans call it that, and the fat is kind of the point ( and the hickory or applewood smoke flavor). But wafer-thin fat-only bacon is not worth eating, I agree. Canadian pea meal bacon is delicious but next to impossible to get here.

I am just so over bullshit advertising we have subway ads here that show huge stuffed sandwiches that are so far from reality and no one calls them to to task for false advertising. It makes me angry. It's just lies.
