Contest Entry: Winchester 1979

Troubled loner with a rifle in a wooded area wearing a jacket from the Lee Harvey Oswald Collection. What's not creepy about this ad?  I know it's debatable as to whether that is a kid, but I found this in Boys' Life so I'm guessing it's supposed to be.

I sense possible demerit badges on the way... (I don't remember the Girl Scouts advocating rifles or any other weapon besides the scout knife.)

Older issues of Boys' Life had lots of gun ads, but mostly for air rifles. I don't recall seeing them in more recent issues when my son was a Cub Scout. If they were there, they weren't prevalent.
