I'm so glad bell bottoms died. Once in a while is fine, but you don't need to put them on ALL the things.

What really cracks me up is the butts on the drawings of the models. The one called "Wild Garden" -- check out the back view. It's... yikes.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE FLARES HAPPEN. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Okay, they kind of did happen in the 70s. But lordy, they shouldn't have.

Take that back!

I LOVE flares! I loved them then, I love them now.

Do you know how horrible a big legged woman like me looks in straight legged pants? Flares actually draw the eyes away from the hips.

Okay, maybe not flares in general. But skin-tight-except-for-giant-leg-lampshades jumpsuits should never, ever happen.

I need a slight flare to balance me out--my butt is pretty big and a slight flare makes me look better. But damn, I could use those as sails!

Some of the outfits are cute though, and one or two of the gowns are lovely. Some things make me think of Captain Kirk's lady friends, though!

Yep, I just replied the same thing to chase. The flare draws the eye down & away from the butt & hips.

I kind of want J on page 5. I'm a sucker for those lace-up sleeves. And the color. :)

Oh, and has there ever been a tagline that sold more of a product than "Popcorn Knit for Super Fit!"

oh HELL yes with the big ol bell bottoms. i had two pairs of those suckers in 1975 (hey, i was TWELVE, gimme a break) and i wore them till i achieved my final 2 inches and they were too short.

and i would wear the hell out of such things again. i would indeed.

Oh, these are just fabulous !! To think these would actually have been pretty fashionable back then, instead of tacky, tacky, tacky...
Yes - what ever happened to the tack factor in fashion ?!!

The days when they were too cheap to use actual models to model the clothes and gave you the artist's interpretation of how they'd look instead. Sometimes they'd put the face of someone famous on the model. I remember one that looked like Jill St. John, and another that looked like Brooke Shields (when Brooke was 16). Come to think of it, "A" on the middle set of pages looks kind of like Joan Collins...
