Telephones from that time sounded downright organic compared to how they're made today! Only 19 materials. Sounds like you could make a phone out of a few metals, a bit of rubber, and a couple of bedsheets.
I just yesterday finushed reading a book abt thr Eastland , the worst non-war US maritime disaster (not including fires), which overturnef still moored to the docks in Chicago. Over 800 dead.
