i like that they used a photo of a woman who is AVERAGE-pretty, rather than one who is over-the-top gorgeous for the ad.

it makes Betty Sue Normal think that this could be an option for *her*, since this other average woman uses tampax and wow, dainty applicator! *snickering*

Looking at old posters of people like Betty Grable, I think she may have been considered quite the beauty back then. Tastes have changed a lot since WWII.
