And doesn't that fellow just look incredibly excited about that shirtwaist? Why, he can barely contain his ecstasy.

I can't help but think that bit of blurb before the first ellipsis on the jeans one would also suit a "club kids meet manly men" gay porn vid or something.

Oh my, 'saucy solids and lusty patterns'... well indeed. >.<

Suspenders on the inside of a shirt? Seems like that would lead to chafed nipples.

I don't get it. How does the shirtwaist tuck into the trousers like that if it's attached to them from the inside via the suspenders. Shouldn't there be a ruffle of shirt below the waistband?!

It looks like the suspenders button to the inside of the shirt. Maybe the shirt then buttons to the pants? It sure seems overly complicated, but I guess it'd work. The thing still looks like something Houdini would escape from, though.

Maybe the suspenders attach to his underpants... which could lead to all manner of sartorial unpleasantness! XD

I think the guy from 1901 looks more stylish than the guy from 1968.

But the guy from 1968 looks vaguely much more well-endowed.

Yup! First thing I noticed!

That 1901 shirt looks excessively complicated, especially since he would also have to attach the collar. Also, is it just me or does that guy look a bit like Sheldon Cooper? OMG, Jim Parsons is yet another celebrity vampire! It would explain a lot. He doesn't age.

How far back has '68 guy leaned back and what wacky colors do you think he dyed his trousers?

He's leaning back to show his package. That's how hip he is!

I'm voting for the 1968 ad. The beach jeans are ugly, but, at least, the man wearing them appears to be having a great time.
