The movie, not the TV show, of course. I hated this movie for two reasons: 1. It was terrible. 2. It was filmed at my college and I was late to class a couple of times because they blocked off huge sections of campus and I had to walk around. Seeing my school's logo blocked out for a fake one was also weird. Also, whenever they needed extras, I wasn't available! I just know I would have been discovered!

I do regret not getting to see Scott Bakula in person, but they kept things pretty locked down when the stars were there. Jason Bateman was in it, too, and I kind of crushed on him so wouldn't have minded meeting him. I heard that some of the actors had frequented the local watering holes, but I mostly heard about this after the fact. There's not a lot to do in Denton, so I think they probably mostly hung out in Dallas. I wasn't living on campus and I was working so I didn't have time to do much fun stuff. :(

They filmed a TV show on our campus once, and when I saw the ep, it was just so... disorienting. They'd chase a criminal around behind the admin building (atop a grassy tree-filled hill) and cut to - a PARKING LOT? WTF?

Disney filmed a tv movie in Austin when I was living there. My roomate and I caught it on tv when it was broadcast.

There was a scene in which Cindy Williams jumps into a dumpster to escape some bad guys and the thing started rolling down a hill. It bothered both of us that as it rolled along, it was actually jumping to to locations that were 3 or 4 blocks away.

University of North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN! Game scenes were shot at Fouts Field, which has now been replaced and will be demolished eventually. If I visited there, I doubt I would recognize much around there. A few years ago, I met someone in my neighborhood who graduated a few years ago and she told me that the Fry Street area had been destroyed by developers. It was near most of the humanities buildings and it had all those quirky little businesses you associate with a college town like bars, a coffee shop/used book store, a diner, terrible but cheap pizza, and, of course, a head shop. One of the biggest problems with Denton is the fact that it does NOT want to be a college town in spite of its having two large public universities (Texas Women's is the other one).

Not only that, but even when I was going there, a lot of the cheap housing around there had been taken over by non-students. By the time I moved out of my apartment, I was the only one in that complex who didn't fit the demographic of the rest of the tenants. My friends were scared to come visit me after dark and I can't say I blamed them.

Sorry for the rant. I have pleasant memories of the college itself, but I do not miss Denton at all.

I don't think any movies were filmed on the University of Texas campus when I was there. There was one day, though, when I was walking back to my dorm from class and ran into a big line of people on the road up to one of the engineering buildings. It was blocking my way so I figured I'd see what was up. I got up to the curb just as some cars pulled up. Prince Charles emerged from one of them and walked up the line, shaking peoples' hands. He was there to tour the engineering building for some reason.
