Quite a few of these books are available on amazon.com. I don't know why I find that funny, but I do. See a book in an 1880 advertisement, buy it online and download it to your e-reader.

I wish my doctors at New York-Presbyterian Hospital had just told me about that Constitution Water they sell down on Jay Street when they diagnosed my juvenile diabetes. And then I look at the next ad for Au Bon Marche and had a lovely little Parisian flashback. The store is near where I used to stay on Rue de Varennes, near the corner of Rue de Bac. Now I want to go walk around Paris. And stop occasionally to eat in Paris. Damn, I miss the food.
