"Broadway opposite the Astor House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astor_House)" is right on Park Row, right about where J&R Music/Computer/Appliance world is now. The Astor building (as it is now called) is right next to the Woolworth building, which probably hadn't been built yet, so it was possibly the tallest building in the neighborhood.
