Makes me think of one of my favorite quotes ever:
"Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea." -- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Also possession of a Casio F91W can be enough "reason" for the US government to declare you a terrorist, kidnap you and throw you into Guantanamo Bay without trial.

I'm reminded of the scene in Back to the Future where Marty in 1955 is making a phone call and his watch beeps. The guy from the diner is like "WTF?"

It's subtle but true; that sound would have been downright BIZARRE in 1955.
