I'm sometimes still amazed at the color palettes used early and mid 20th century.

"Dark Passage" was on cable over the weekend and in one scene, Bogart comments on Agnes Moorhead's character's orange car. I thought that was an odd color for a car, but dang, if the ones from that era don't look good in orange.

It's interesting that in the movie, her death was an accident. In the book, she jumps out the window intentionally It's a final act intended to frame Bogart's character even more when she realizes he might have a valid defense. The censors or whoever wouldn't allow a movie character to do that, so she somehow ends up whirling behind the curtains and accidentally falling out the window.
