i know, terrible things to think of...i guess because my dad was military, we had that thought in the back of the head all the time, something could happen and he wouldn't come home. he always did, but i had two cousins that didn't.
and family on both sides in WW2, then in WW1, and further back. and we talk a lot about the family history, so *those* people are forever frozen in time for me.
