Maybe I don't read the right publications but there doesn't seem to be this heavy level of advertising for athletic supporters any more? I never see them advertised now and actually wonder why there was so much advertising for them in the 1950s.

I think its because more and more are no longer wearing them. I know In soccer they are not.
In the NFL its also getting less and less. One of the players from New England, Aaron Hernandez does not seem to wear one. I know cause we see his junk every week. I looked for a photo everyone was talking about last season and cant find it.
