Sounds kind of blunt to circle your choice and put it in his pocket, but I spent a two-hour car ride hinting to Spouse that I wanted a 22-inch silver chain for Christmas...two days later he texted me wanting to know if I was ever going to come up with anything I wanted for Christmas! :D

to hell with that, i keep a wish list on amazon for when he feels like a surprise...but for special occasions like anniversary/Solstice? i send him a direct link.

and he got me exactly what i wanted. we were in the at&t store when he asks me out of the blue "what ring size did you want this ring in?" (rose gold anniverary band with 1/4 carat of channel set diamonds. which was EXACTLY what i wanted when we looked at rings 4 years ago, but he insisted on getting me the set with lots and lots of diamonds. why? because he wasnt going to spend less on me than he spent on his first wife. *eyeroll*)
