The dog didn't get a hat and he's really sad!

If the artwork seems familiar, it may be because you had books illustrated by Eloise Wilkin

It that a boy or girl at the top of the page in dark blue... Pretty androgeny if you ask me...

The toddler in the pink looks curiously somber.

I am so going to copy the knit pattern for the red one in the upper right! LOVE.

(I'll knit one for the doggie whilst I'm at it. Doggies should have hats, too. :-))

Oh, mercy, yes I surely did. The most memorable being her Little Golden Book of Hansel and Gretel . Had dreams about her Witch when I was a wee one.

awww, I saw the baby and *knew* I'd seen, and had, books with that illustrator's work before! Those cheeks! The little pouty-frown!^^ (must look and see if she's the one who did The Littlest Angel, too...)

I've seen versions of the Littlest Angel in that chubby-sweet style, one was illustrated by Katherine Evans, and one by Sergio Leone.

What kind of style are the caps of the older girls supposed to be? Are they attached to their hair or something? Because that looks really impractical. Tie it under chin or wear regular caps!

..oh but caps are for boys only! Silly me!
