Hump Day Hunks: Jon-Erik Hexum in "Cover Up"

I kind of like write_light's Hump Day Hunk idea so I'd like to keep it going!

The other day, I was thinking about Jon-Erik Hexum and I came across this. I'm guessing this poster adorned the wall of some mid-80s teen before it was taken down (probably by Mom) and carelessly stored. I wish it had been on the wall of my room, because, well, DAMN!

This poster is kind of sad and a bit ominous. Sadly, of course, Mr. Hexum exited stage left all too soon and it was on the set of Cover Up that he made that fatal error. There's a lesson there, kids. Even when guns aren't supposed to kill you, they can kill you!

I remember him from Voyager! Dumb show, but he was so cute with Mino Palucci (spelling?)

Typical 80's show - but I loved it. I remember being so shocked at his senseless death.

I liked that show, too, but, yeah, very contrived and pretty much a vehicle for male eye candy. Hey, I miss shows like that! It was actually because I saw a slightly older Meeno Peluce on an episode of Remington Steele (weeknights at 8 p.m. on Me TV) that made me think of Hexum.

Hmm. Come to think of it, some vintage Pierce Brosnan would also make a good subject for a future Hump-a-Hunk Day--or whatever this is. ;)

That was him?! Now I'm doubly sad. I only saw one or two episodes of 'Voyager' so I didn't make the connection.

Yeah, I remember when he died, he was just about to break into movies I think.

A Vietnam Vet received Hexum's heart. The guy ran a escort business in Las Vegas, and lived until 2002.

I think he would have had a promising career for awhile, anyway, as an action star. I don't know how he would have done once he started to age, but we'll never know.

The organ and tissue donation seemed to ease the suffering of several people. Good for his family for making that choice. More here:

Yeah, I can't remember the specifics but there was a big industry buzz about Hexum, and his getting into theatrical releases, after that series he was in turned out to be a big hit. Such a shame ://

I was crazy about that guy in a tween fangirl sort of way and I remember I cried till my eyes were swollen when he died.
