[personal profile] misstia posting in [community profile] vintageads
i'm asking this in both groups (DW & LJ).....what should be the image size limits ----or should we have limits (aside from humungous) ----before an ad is put behind a cut and/or posted smaller?? 600 width? 1000 width?

feedback would be appreciated.....thank you!

None!
I almost never look behind a cut, I will just scroll along to the next AD.

Up to 800 wide is reasonable in my view.

If the ad is that big where it causes my browser to stretch it needs a cut or a resize. I think 800 pixels wide is reasonable.

Agreeing with the 800 pixels.

Both my computers have wide-screens so I don't know how others might be affected, but I can go with whatever the community thinks is best. I post most of my portrait ads at 600 and most landscape at 800 so I could easily live with that.

I've been going on 640 width as my cutoff. The screens I use are 1440 and 1920, respectively. I don't know how small the screens of other people go, and I hope I'm not breaking anybody's friends page.

My laptop is broken and I'm using my sisters ipad until I can afford to replace it. I don't know what the cutoff is, but images over a certain size make my friends page unreadable, and it often happens with entries in this comm. I don't think it's too much to ask that large images be put behind a cut.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to check how large an image is on the ipad! I assume any reasonable cutoff will be fine, I just wanted to be a counterpoint to the commenter who wanted no cuts at all.

I'm running at 1920x1080, so I can still see rather wide ones. I like the 800 idea, though.

I have a widescreen computer, but I try to keep my posts at 700-800 max. LJ offers an easy way to resize. I think 800 would cover 90-95% of what I post.

I also have a widescreen so I'm not affected that much, but I always try to shrink my images if they're way too big. I guess I'll have to stay with the 800
