I'm also totally amused by "creamed filled"...clearly they could no longer say "cream filled," but apparently they hadn't yet hit on "creme filling."

I would bet that the chocolate they're using now probably still comes from the same area in Africa - it's the biggest chocolate producer in the world. Brazil is no longer the player it once was, but I did find a single-origin Brazilian bar for a Brazil-born friend's birthday this year.

I remember those 10 cent cupcakes. i got a nickel a day allowance and could have a 5 cent candy bar every day or save up for two hostess cupcakes every other day. They're probably why I'm so trifty today.

What the hell does that mean? Sounds like the made-up "stats" they use to sell energy drinks. Meh. These were more tasty and just about as nutritious.

I am guessing they mean that 54% of the calories Twinkies supply are available immediately as glucose/dextrose, and that the remainder are the rest of the ingredients (flour, shortening), that need to be digested in order for the body to use them.
