If there's one thing we have all learned from this forum is that everyone in every ad is gay! ;)
To me it looks like she's trying to get him to give her a piggyback ride and he's like, "lemme alone, woman and walk on your own damn feet!" They also look they just saw someone else take the last of the bread and milk from the store. Everyone knows you cannot survive any sort of natural disaster without bread and milk. No one knows why, but that's just the way it is.
I know how that goes! That's why my Netflix queue keeps growing. When I can finally delete something because I actually watched it, not just because I lose interest, I feel like it's a major accomplishment! :D
I watched it last night. It started out a bit slow and was almost a travelogue (it would have benefited greatly from technicolor), but once it picked up I found it an enjoyable film. The climatic hurricane was quite tense and the special effects stand up well with time.
One minor thing that annoyed me was that the film took place in French Polynesia (ie on and near Tahiti) but the Hawaiian song Aloha-Oe was used throughout the film.
Error in geography! Also, if it takes place in the Pacific, wouldn't it be a typhoon? I think "hurricane" applies only to Atlantic storms, but I'm not sure about that. I'll let the linguistic police make the call on that one.
Thanks for the review. I hope to have time to check it out sometime. :)
