Oh this definitely brings back memories--I'm from New England and Channel 4 was considered the Primo station of Boston. They had a jingle to go with it, which I still remember without even looking it up: "We're 4: Faneuil Hall and the colors of fall, in New England. We're 4..."
I remember Bruce the Weatherman especially. He loved his job--when nor' easter blizzards were blowing in, and news would cut back frequently to give updates, he always appeared disheveled with excitement.
Those hair-dos, and the plaid suit jackets, and the big honking type writers...no computers. Thanks for posting this!
This particular clip is before my time, but growing up in Halifax, Nova Scotia (one of the weird-shaped bits of Canada up above Maine), WBZ was the CBS affiliate we got on cable (we also got NBC and ABC affiliates out of Boston and a Fox affiliate out of... Rochester, I think?)
Watched a lot of big news stories on those stations--often, the coverage was better or available faster--and tried to speculate what our winter weather would be based on their forecasts.
