I was born in 1980. I clearly missed out on some amazing Pea Green decor!

Lysol eliminates household issues...

Sweet jesus. My parents had a harvest gold stove/refrigerator up until about 5 years ago.

And don't get me started on avocado green...

My first apartment, which I moved into in the 80s, had a galley kitchen with avocado green appliances. None of them had that kinda brown shading I remember seeing as a kid, fortunately.

Haha! I was 82, and our fridge was that colour...the stove was a lovely poop brown. :P

Most of my house was poop brown, er, "harvest gold."! My friend's house was orange.

my parents bought their house in the early 80s. Apparently the guy who rented the place out went overboard with the 70s decor.

The avocado green fridge worked for about another 15 years, too.

I was born in 1980 too, but luckily (?) I didn't miss out! My aunt had that lovely green for her kitchen, and my mom the mustard color!

the worst kitchen we had was this one...brick pattern linoleum. brick red countertop. brick red appliances.

and my mother's bright idea? paint the walls this blinding yellow, with white trim everywhere. did i mention this room faced east, and was FILLED with windows for that blinding morning wake-up? gah!

Or you could just open a few windows, flick on a fan, and actually change the sheets once in a while.

I was born in the 70s. I feel so lucky looking at these ads! Another thing you may have missed out on is that snappy metallic stench of Lysol. We always had that can around the house! That and Pine-sol. But I don't think my mum ever used Lysol in any of these suggested ways except for in the trashcan - in the air in the kitchen? Yikes!
My mum had this hairdo, too.

I have a nostalgic fondness for the scent of the original Lysol ... and I don't think it's even available anymore, sadly.
