Is bacon-covered fish at all common? I don't eat bacon, so wouldn't know.

I don't eat bacon or fish so I'm not sure either. But that fish's head is bothering me. Like he's saying "Oh hell I'm dead and on a plate." or "I shouldn't have gone for that worm." ... Maybe fish heads always look like that though, it's been a while.

First for me. I suppose if Billy Bass can sing he can also be an existentialist in a non existing kind of way.

Oh, God, I don't know why, but I LOL'd till I cried when I read that part. I think it's because it's the kind of thing I'd say or think. SO funny!

Says to cardiologist, "But doctor, I did change my diet! I have been eating fish every day! What do you mean my triglycerides are still through the roof?"

Bacon in a jar. Hmm. That sounds so disgusting, it would probably sell today!

IKR? I can't believe I haven't seen it. Probably cheaper to package without the glass jar.

Me either. I find it a charming thought while glad I don't actually have to deal with it.

In my reading of old cookbooks, it's not something I recall coming across enough to have noted it, but it makes sense - if you were frying the fish, the bacon would render some fat and impart a smoky flavor. It would be especially helpful in frying delicate food like fish if you were cooking over an open fire while camping and hadn't brought fat especially for the purpose.

That's the first time I've ever heard of putting bacon on fish, especially a fish cooked like that. o_O
