Yes. Chessie is a classic. The outline is all that's painted on the train cars, which looks really strange unless you know what the original picture looks like.

My thought exactly. It was years before I saw a printed version of the cat, so all I knew was the cat was at a bit of an angle and had a paw sticking out. Much like the cat in the shoe ads (seen elsewhere in the thread).
