From 1948.

Weeki Wachee postcard, 1960s. They say "mermaids" on the moon, but the pic shows only one. And it's not on the moon. False advertising!

Another Weeki Wachee postcard, 1960s. That hatter is the stuff of nightmares.

Hey, there's video of this!

The sequel to Miranda, "Mad About Men" was on TCM a few months ago. It's actually a mermaid movie and a "life-swap" movie, which was kind of cool.

I went during the 70s as a child! I still remember it. What glamour and they waved at me! (Meeting Santa Claus was nothing compared to it.)

IKR? The idea of eating and drinking under water is not appealing at all! Not unless you enjoy the idea of ingesting lots of bacteria.

I just fell into the Weeki Wachee rabbit hole, and I am unaccountably disturbed.

Their Wizard of Oz is appropriately dreamlike and enigmatic. View at YouTube, and it's in the sidebar.
