That route (Chicago to the Pacific Northwest) is called the Empire Builder now. It does have a lounge car with those huge overhead windows, but I'm glad the regular seats don't have them--it would be blindingly bright, not to mention too hot.

I'm sad I missed the height of train travel, but Amtrak is still my favorite way to get around (other than my bicycle). It's so relaxed and easy.
