I thought you guys would enjoy some comic book ads from a campy old 70s series called "Young Romance" (aka "Terrible Girly Comic")

The entire comic is scanned here (if you're hungry for some cheesy camp). But I'll just put the ads in this comm...

How to mend a broken heart:

I love number 7. "Just buy a hat! Hats fix EVERYTHING".

What is this superhero ad doing in a girly book!? Must have been put there by mistake!

Ads for random stuff

DC Artist Awards

I've never seen anything quite like this before! Comic Book artists getting recognized in the pages of an actual book (and one that is clearly NOT marketed to fanboys, no less!). And they get their own little portraits, too! I love Denny O'Neil's dramatic CSI pose! XD

I think the first step in getting him to marry you is to stop trying to consume his face.

I thought it looked like she was biting his neck. Kids today and their premarital vampirism....

I didn't read these kinds of comics, but when I was a kid I liked stuff like the Donald Duck comics or the ones involving his relatives (nephews, Uncle Scrooge, etc.). I also remember reading Little Lulu. Those comics had a lot of standard-issue comic book ads like the ones for iron-on patches, cheap jewelry, and tacky wall art. The only thing missing are the sea monkeys!

I like some of the "Fifteen Ways" tips, especially the ones that are about encouraging the girl to develop her own interests. The ones that encourage focusing on outer beauty and consumerism, meh, not so much. Except the one about buying a hat, of course! ;)
