There's more to explore here....there are so many advertisements about "digestible" food and everyone seems constipated back then. The whole Kellogg's empire seems to be built on these maladies. What on earth were those people eating?

Yeah. When I was that age, my friends and I talked about cartoons and playground gossip. The subject of laxatives never came up (nor did the subject of medication in general). I guess kids in the 50s had no respect for boundaries!

I wasn't aware so many boys his age were into anorexia/bulimia culture. I thought it was more of a high school girl thing. At least it was at my school.
