Northwestern Yeast Co., 1936

"Yeast Foam Tablets" come with a free mirror (after purchase).  Let's not ponder why.

I'm confused - is "constipation" a polite way of saying "yeast infection"?

...and 7 YEARS?! Jeez lady.

the mirror is for the busy lady on the go. it allows her to be regular AND keep her makeup picture perfect (at the same time!) multi-tasking!

My mind went straight to to the question--"Broken mirror or disregarded chain letter?"

Is it wrong that I tried to figure out a relationship between the specially-angled mirror and the yeast?

My thought is that if your body starts producing yeast foam on its own, you've overdone it and that's what the mirror is for.

When she said she was constipated for seven years, I'm guessing she meant off and on not seven years straight. Right? o_O

I doubt at the time that they actually had any scientific backing for their product claims; this is decades before anybody had the least clue that there was such a thing as "good bacteria" or probiotics or anything like that.

On the other hand, promoting yeast as a health food/medicine was all the rage in the early twentieth century, because Vitamin B had first been discovered in yeast, and they only knew about two or three vitamins at the time, so that seemed like a big deal and was easily spun by marketers into OMG YEAST IS A MAGIC CURE-EVERYTHING.
