bayer aspirin

Also, saw this on Time magazine site about Mad Men era ads:
A new book, Advertising From the Mad Men Era, released this month by Taschen, offers a glimpse at how women in the 1950's and 60s were depicted, from "Little Fibber" girdles to men's cologne that turns pretty gals into trophies — literally.

Some really great ads to check out from the book

Every month I seem to read some article somewhere that depicts Aspirin as a miracle preventative for this-or-that. First it was heart attacks, now it's colon cancer, etc. You wonder why everyone just shouldn't just pop one of those stomach-safe Aspirins every day?

Unless you're a kid, then it's the opposite. Remember baby aspirin? Man, I loved that stuff when I was a kid. Then Reye's Syndrome came along and suddenly it was like giving a kid poison.

Actually, unless you have a bleeding disorder or something else that contraindicates, a lot of doctors recommend exactly that.

I also love a recent commercial where a guy is complaining about a headache, and someone offers him an aspirin. He says "I only have a headache! There's nothing wrong with my heart!", only to be assured that aspirin is good for headaches too.

Ugh, that commercial. That man's old enough to pre-date all of the additional benefits that've been discovered, and he somehow FORGOT that aspirin treats headaches?! That man should not be allowed to travel unattended.

To say nothing about his assumption that a stewardess on an international flight would have no knowledge of tourist English, whatsoever 'cause, you know, she's Asian.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates that commercial for exactly the same reason.

Yes!

I have this bottle with this label in my bathroom right now (holding newly-minted aspirin, thankfully,) but it's got what I assume from the age of this ad is one of the first child-proof caps. I want the metal one, dang it!
