vintageadsWas messing around with the Digital Newspaper archives for my state and found a few interesting items. The first one is from 1945, I believe the others were all 1952.
Did not know constipation was supposed to make you shrink---it always makes me feel HUGE!
Scented lingerie that doesn't appear to have any kinky associations. Definitely a new one on me.
"Wine like Grandma used to make"? Sounds like someone had a really cool grandma!
17-inch bigscreen TV! Also note how *somebody* is possibly losing their job for their unfinished editing job on this ad...
A perfectly nice ad for train travel, and a sign of our changed times that it took me five full minutes to figure out how "Extra Pleasure" and a shield motif could be associated to anything but condoms( which probably were totally unmentionable if not illegal at the time).
