And because it soared to 90 here and I'm sweltering... and will not turn on the AC because dammit it's APRIL.  I really need some cool allure. :S

I remember seeing those products in my great grandmother's bathroom!

I'm so glad she was dainty, and didn't lose her charm. ;-)

Were the packages as pretty as in the ad? How cool (no pun intended) to see them in person, so to speak!

I know what you mean about the heat. I had to turn our AC on back in freakin' February! I have asthma so I can only take it to a point. Glad where I live we're having some real spring weather now. I was starting to worry there.

Talc, such a necessity here in the Deeeeeeeep South! It keeps me dainty(ish) in the heat, but not so sure about the irresistible part. :D

I'm kind of surprised they let a woman's "natural" boobs show in the print. As late as the 1960s they had them trussed up and in. Or lifted and separated. The ad is kind of sultry,no? On the other hand, there is 'heat rash' powder which made you feel cold. Yep, cold in the heat. It had menthol and eucalyptus and peppermint, etc. I wish I could find some now.

The fashion in the '30s tended to let women's tits sit where they may (Renee Perle (http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w9/fyamma/Renee_-Juan-les-Pins_-May-1930.jpg), Bette Davis (http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljrc5oQgum1qb8ugro1_r1_500.jpg)), or at least more naturally low than would be seen again for a while.

I want that talc and cologne! This ad's copy definitely worked on me. I want to be "Irresistible".

The back and forth with the temperatures and all of the pollen floating through the air are the worst parts of springtime.
